Overview
The Future Innovators: Robots & IOT Bootcamp will be hands-on Instructor Led Training program to be held at School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT, Bhubaneswar from 12th May 2025 to 23rd May 2025. The training is primarily designed for the secondary/senior-secondary school students of classes 8th – 12th. The program will be conducted in two parallel sessions, one for the Beginners and the other for the Advanced Learners. The participants will be selecting the session as per their competency level during the registration. The training program is a completely Hands-On Program with Practical learning focused on latest concepts on Robots and Internet of Things (IOT).
Materials to be provided
- Training kits such as Arduino board, ESP 32 board, sensors, actuators (motors), jumper wires, computers with internet connections will be provided during the training.
- Learning materials (ppt, pdf files relevant to the task being performed)
Why study IOT?
IOT is all about connecting things to the internet so they can share information and work together. Studying IOT helps students see how different devices and systems can communicate and collaborate, making our lives more efficient and connected. It’s like learning the language that all these smart devices use to talk to each other!
Why study Autonomous Wheeled Robots?
These are robots that can move around by themselves without someone controlling them all the time. Learning about these robots helps students understand how technology can solve problems and do tasks on its own. It’s like getting a sneak peek into the future of technology and robotics!
Programme Objectives
As part of summer camp, the students will be able to:
- Learn and experiment with STEM-Robotics and IOT and co-relate the same with their school curriculum.
- Understand, identify, and use different sensors, actuators and IOT cloud services (such as Blynk, Sinric pro etc.) for making a wheeled robot / IOT based system.
- Make electronic circuits for interfacing sensors and actuators through a microcontroller such as Arduino/Esp.
- Develop computer programs for controlling multi-sensor wheeled robots for specific tasks such as obstacle avoidance and path following.
- Design and build robots as well as IOT projects using robotics kits.

Here’s why studying these topics is so important:
- Future Job Skills: As technology continues to advance, jobs in robotics, engineering, and IOT are growing. Learning about these topics now can help students be prepared for future
career opportunities. - Problem Solving: Studying robots and IOT teaches students to think critically and solve problems creatively. They’ll learn how to design, program, and troubleshoot these systems, which are valuable skills in any field.
- Understanding Technology: In today’s digital world, understanding how technology works and how to use it responsibly is crucial. Studying robots and IOT gives students a deeper understanding of the technology that shapes their lives.
- Innovation: Who knows? The next big invention or breakthrough could come from a student who’s passionate about robots and IOT! Encouraging curiosity and exploration in these areas can inspire students to come up with new ideas and innovations.
- Real-world Applications: Robots and IOT are used in all sorts of industries, from healthcare and transportation to agriculture and smart cities. Studying these topics helps students see how technology can be applied to solve real-world problems and improve people’s lives.
