KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering conducted their third talk under the ‘Alumni Talk Series’ on 28th August 2021 in collaboration with the KIIT Alumni Association. In this informative and interactive webinar, Mr. Dipam Chatterjee a KIIT alumnus of 2015 batch, presently working as the Senior Manufacturing Engineer John Deere, Pune and Mr. Saurav Das also a KIIT alumnus of 2015 batch, presently working as as Branch Manager, Roff Division, Delhi. Pidilite Industries Ltd delivered their talk.

 

In this session Mr. Dipam Chatterjee talked about the expectations of industries from academia. He said that, attitude to learn and aptitude for grasp are two most important factors, for success in professional life. It has been suggested that sound knowledge in electronics and programming skill can make a mechanical engineer more saleable in the job market. The importance of self learning has also discussed by him. He also focused on how to and how not to behave with floor job workers. Mr. Saurav Das enlightened his journey from KIIT to IIM Kozhikode and to his current job in Pidilite Industries Ltd. Both of them focused how the work experiences of KIIT Automotive society helps them in their professional life. Both of them also conveyed their gratitude towards KIIT for their success. They also praised this initiation of alumni connect and discussed its importance in professional and personal life of alumnus/alumna as well.

 

The talk followed a thorough question-answer session. Prof. Bharat Chandra Routray, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering also interacted with students and alumni. Prof. Isham Panigrahi, Prof. Nitin Sharma and Prof. Sushant Tripathy extensively participated in interaction session. This event is a stepping stone to more such sessions in the future, which will help bring together the student and alumni community for the University and the School.
