KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering conducted their twelfth talk under the ‘Alumni Talk Series’ on 2nd April 2024 in collaboration with the KIIT Alumni Association. In this informative and interactive webinar, Mr. Samrat Kumar a KIIT alumnus of 2016 batch, presently working as Senior manager-Forward Model Quality, TATA Motors limited, Jamshedpur presented his talk.
Mr. Samrat Kumar delved into the subject of the “Overview of the commercial vehicle industry in automobiles.” He elaborated on the criteria used to classify commercial vehicles and elucidated how one can determine the loading capacity of commercial trucks by observing the total number of axles. Additionally, he explored the specifications of commercial vehicles. Mr. Samrat Kumar emphasized the importance for students to concentrate on their foundational semester subjects, highlighting their significance in interview preparation. Expressing gratitude towards KIIT for their achievements, he commended the alumni connect initiative and discussed its value in both the personal and professional lives of alumni.
The talk followed a thorough question-answer session. Prof. Bharat Chandra Routray, Dean, of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and Prof. Lalit Pothal, Dean of Alumni interacted with students and alumni. Few students also participated in the interactive session. This event is a stepping stone to more such sessions in the future, which will help bring together the student and alumni community for the University and the School.
