KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering conducted their fifth talk under the ‘Alumni Talk Series’ on 2nd May 2022 in collaboration with the KIIT Alumni Association. In this informative and interactive webinar, Mr. Shashank Singh is the FOUNDER & DIRECTOR, GRAM ASSOCIATION; JHARKHAND, who is an alumnus of 2013 batch School of Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Shashank Singh also worked as PROGRAM COORDINATOR, BAREFOOT COLLEGE; RAJASTHAN, HARVESTING THE HEAVEN CAMPAIGN; INDIA, YOUTH FOR INDIA FELLOW, STATE BANK OF INDIA FOUNDATION and QUALITY ENGINEER, HERO CYCLES LIMITED.

 

In this session Mr. Shashank Singh delivered his talk on the topic ‘’Water conservation and the role of society’. He discussed about the role of the society for water conservation. He also discussed various methods generally used for the water conservation particularly in law rainfall areas across the country. He has given some examples of Rajasthan through that one can learn the necessity and way methods of water conservations. He emphasized to use surface water than deep ground water. He also mentioned how his NGO does helps various communities to build small dams and dig ponds through crowd funding for water conservation. He also conveyed his gratitude towards KIIT for his success. He also praised this initiation of alumni connect and discussed its importance in professional and personal life of alumnus/alumna as well.

 

The talk followed a thorough question-answer session. Prof. Bharat Chandra Routray, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering also interacted with students and alumni. This event is a stepping stone to more such sessions in the future, which will help bring together the student and alumni community for the University and the School. The session was coordinated and moderated by Prof. Prakash Ghose, Alumni Coordinator
