Lalit Kumar pothal has graduated B.Tech (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur (1985),M.tech from IIT Kanpur (1990) in Mechanical and had his : MBA (Operations), from XLRI Jamshedpur (1997); He is a Performance-driven senior-level Operations professional offering a successful career spanning 25 yrs in Indian Automobile industry-----Hindustan Motors,Tata Motors, Asia Motor ,Piaggio vehicles ,Eicher Motors (Royal enfield unit).Had worked as a General Manager at Eicher Motors with its Royal Enfield plant in Chennai, PVPL and AMW .He has got Product Knowledge for Two Wheeler,3 wheeler ,Truck,Bus,Engines,NPI and plant process improvement.He has hands-on expertise in latest tools and methodologies viz., Deming’s QC Tools, Process Capability Studies, Kaizen Principles, FMEA, Six Sigma, JIT, TQM, SPC, Lean Manufacturing etc.and Proven experience at implementing and ensuring compliance to ISO-9000, QS-9000, TS 16949 and JRD-QV norms. Additional skills: Vendor Management, Budget Planning & Control, Production & Productivity Enhancement, Customer Service, Team Leadership & Management etc.

Wef Jan 14 working as a Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department.He has taken up assignment of Associate Dean Training & Placement as well as Industry Engagement Cell for a reputed institution i.e.KIIT in Odisha state . He teaches Industrial Engineering and Operation Research ,Total Quality Management,Supply Chain Management,Automobile Technology,Basic Manufacturing Science etc to the students .
