Assistant Professor
Dr. Sanjib Jaypuria earned his Ph.D. in Electron and Laser Beam Welding, along with modeling and optimization utilizing Machine Learning methodologies, from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India, in 2021. Prior to this, he completed his M.Tech from IIT Delhi and his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Rourkela. Before embarking on his teaching career, Dr. Jaypuria gained valuable industry experience at L&T and Tata Motors after completing his B.Tech. His primary research interests revolve around employing machine learning for modeling and soft computing for optimization in manufacturing processes, particularly in Electron and Laser Beam Welding, as well as 3D Printing. Additionally, he delves into mechanical and metallurgical material characterization, robotics, and their various applications. With a wealth of academic contributions, Dr. Jaypuria has authored numerous papers in esteemed Peer-Reviewed International Journals, Book Chapters, and International Conference Proceedings. Accumulating over two years of post-Ph.D. experience in teaching and research, he currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering at KIIT Deemed to be University, an Institute of Eminence located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. In his role, Dr. Jaypuria imparts knowledge on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects such as Industrial Automation and Robotics, Internet of Things, Smart Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0, fostering innovation among students. Over the past two years, he has supervised two M. Tech. projects and numerous B. Tech. group projects, further contributing to the academic and research landscape in his field.
