On September 30, 2023, the KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering hosted the installation ceremony of the ISHRAE KIIT Student Chapter. The event was graced by esteemed personalities including Prof. Bharat Chandra Routara, the Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. P C Mishra, Dean of Research at SME, and Prof. Nitin Sharma, Associate Dean at SME. The ceremony commenced with an inaugural speech by Prof. Radha Kanta Sarangi, followed by a warm welcome address from Prof. Bharat Chandra Routara.
The virtual presence of Dr. Balaji Choudhury, President of ISHRAE Bhubaneswar Sub Chapter, added significance to the occasion. Dr. Choudhury remotely administered the oath to the newly appointed office bearers and core working members of the student chapter. Expressing gratitude, Mr. Omkar Satpathi, President of KIIT ISHRAE Student Chapter, delivered the vote of thanks.
In the subsequent session, Ms. Riya M Gangwal presented a technical talk on “Future Trends in Sustainable Engineering.” Emphasizing the imperative role of sustainability
in fostering a healthy living environment, she highlighted various strategies to reduce energy consumption in the design of buildings and air-conditioning systems. Dr.
Abhilas Swain extended thanks to the speaker in his vote of thanks.
The event’s coordination, conducted in virtual mode, involved Prof. Radha Kanta Sarangi, Student Chair of ISHRAE KIIT Student Chapter, Prof. P. Chandra Sekhar, Associate Dean of the Industry Engagement Cell, Prof. Satya Prakash Kar, Prof. Niloptala Bej, Prof. Abhilas Swain, and Mr. Siba Padarabinda Behera, all active ISHRAE members, along with student participants.
