KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering conducted their ninth talk under the ‘Alumni Talk Series’ on 22nd November 2023 in collaboration with the KIIT Alumni Association. In this informative and interactive webinar, Mr. Trishanan Das a KIIT alumnus of 2016 batch, presently persuing MBA in University of San Francisco, USA.

Mr. Trishanan Das discussed on the topic “Transition from mechanical to analytics for the business world; how young professionals should be ready for it”. Mr. Trisanan Das explained that a mechanical engineer can choose an alternate career option in data science management stream rather than core tech professional in data science. The core students should exhibit their flexibility during selection of their career path. He also mentioned that all branches of engineering are interrelated. He conveyed their gratitude towards KIIT for their success. He praised this initiation of alumni connect and discussed its importance in professional and personal life of alumnus/alumna as well.

 

The talk followed a thorough question-answer session. Prof. Nitin Sharma, Associate Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering also interacted with students and alumni. Few students also participated in the interactive session. This event is a stepping stone to more such sessions in the future, which will help bring together the student and alumni community for the University and the School. The session was coordinated and moderated by Prof. Prakash Ghose, Alumni Coordinator.
