Jitendra Kumar Patel

Assistant Professor

Dr. Jitendra Kumar Patel has obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Chhatrapati Shivaji Institute of Technology Durg, Chhattisgarh in 2010 and completed his Master of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2012. After obtaining the masters’ degree, he continues his research and studies at IIT Guwahati by joining the Ph.D. program in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis, titled, "A generic and robust numerical framework for multi-phase flows using Volume-of-Fluid/Immersed boundary methods'' in 2018. His broad area of research includes computational fluid dynamics, multi-phase flows, fluid-structure interactions, miscible fluids interaction, and heat transfer. Currently, he focuses on the development of a fluid flow solver which is capable of handling multi-physics those frequently en-countered in realistic flow scenarios. In 2017, he joined Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar as a Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering.
