B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of Engineering Technology that conceptualizes the fundamentals for careers in multiple industries, like Automobile, Aerospace, Defense, Space, Thermal Power Plants, Hydraulic Power Plants, Nuclear Power Plants, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning plants, and metal industries, such as Steel, Aluminium, Zinc, and many more. Concept of Mechanical Engineering has the diversified application ranging from cryogenic environment to very high temperature environment. Mechanical Engineers can also step forward for effective utilization of Renewable Energy Sources, leading to minimize the risk of global energy crisis and greenhouse emissions. Mechanical Engineering graduates are also eligible for employment in reputed national and multi-national software/IT/ITES companies after adequate training. Along with various job sectors, Mechanical Engineering graduates enjoy the ample opportunity to become a successful Entrepreneur.

KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering houses “B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering” as its prime graduate program, which offers world class education through qualified and experienced faculties from IISC, IITs, NITs, Foreign Universities and other reputed institutes. The students are asked for their carrier options in the second year of B.Tech. program, and accordingly the carrier focused training is provided by different groups of faculties. Specialized training on campus placement oriented aptitude, soft skills and domain skills, along with special trainings for competitive exams such as GATE, GRE, TOEFL/IELTS, CAT and Civil Services are provided, based on the student’s choice.

B.Tech. Mechanical students of KIIT enjoy multiple job offers from their dream companies through the campus interviews with the support of KIIT Training and Placement cell and consistent guidance of expert faculties. A number of our proud alumni are in administrative posts under Govt. of India and many State Governments after qualifying the relevant competitive examinations. Many have got chance to pursue higher studies (M.Tech., MS, MBA, Ph.D., etc) in reputed institutes and universities of India and abroad. Some students have also flourished as successful entrepreneurs, and have proved them as job providers rather than job seekers.

The school adopts a novel concept of “Tutor Mentorship” program, where around 10-15 students are attached with an experienced faculty who helps, guides and nurtures the students through regular interactive sessions, and also remain in regular touch with their parents. Though second Saturday of every month is solely dedicated as “Tutor Mentor Day” for mandatory interaction between the Mentors and Mentees, the students are welcomed to interact with their Mentors and to get help 24×7 during urgency.
